Read designation dates and the vessel CBA alongside the area name.

Determine IBF/TCC/ITF applicability from agreements. This guide does not decide individual pay claims or disputes.

Your action sequence at a glance

  1. CBA coverage

  2. Current designation

  3. Information/rights check

  4. Position/time evidence

MASTER • RESPONSIBLE OFFICER • COMPANY

Start with these 6 checks

  1. Identify vessel CBA and IBF/TCC coverage.
  2. Open latest official annex and record version.
  3. Compare route, ports, coordinates and validity period.
  4. Provide crew information through authorised procedures.
  5. Verify benefits/refusal/repatriation against CBA/current annex.
  6. Keep entry/exit and crewing/office records controlled.

Educational checklist. Completion is not operational/compliance approval; use the relevant vessel permits/forms separately.

Documents to have available

Select a card to open document guidance. Obtain vessel-specific documents through authorised ship/company systems.

Vessel CBA and annexes

Obtain the vessel’s current CBA and annexes from authorised company crewing/personnel staff or the ship’s controlled document system. Verify vessel applicability, parties, validity and IBF/TCC coverage. This public site does not hold the vessel-specific agreement.

Current IBF/ITF designation list

Open the latest attachment on the official page. Check publication/revision and effective dates, coordinates, port coverage and extensions. Select the IBF or ITF list according to the vessel’s agreement.

Notification and crew-request records

Use company-approved notification and crew-request forms. Check that authorised staff record the notification date, relevant area/voyage and requests received. Keep personal records in the controlled ship/company system; do not upload them here.

Voyage/entry-exit records and office confirmations

Gather entry/exit dates, times and positions, the relevant voyage plan and company confirmations from controlled ship records. Associate the designation-list version with the records. Vessel-specific records are not public.

Open rules and technical detail

1 · Which agreement applies?

Use IBF designations for IBF-covered ships and applicable ITF designations for TCC arrangements. Keep CBA/annexes accessible and current, and provide required crew information. Do not transplant another vessel’s benefits table.

2 · Obtain the latest publisher version

Open the latest attachment on the official IBF page. Check revision/effective dates, coordinates, port coverage and extensions. An old downloaded PDF may have expired. This site does not pretend to update boundaries or bonuses automatically.

3 · Designation classes differ

Warlike Operations, High-Risk and Extended Risk do not carry identical information, refusal/repatriation, bonus or compensation conditions. Confirm the current annex and ship CBA with authorised company/crewing and union contacts.

4 · Link crew process and security assessment

Track entry/exit time/position, notification date and crew requests through controlled records. An IBF check does not replace SSP/voyage risk assessment. Do not publish crew lists or agreements on public pages.

Scenarios and self-check

Onboard scenarios

I have the January PDF.

Check the latest issue/extensions before treating it as current.

The area is not IBF-designated: is it safe?

That does not follow. Operational threat assessment and other requirements remain separate.

LEARNING CHECK

Think of your answer, then reveal the explanation

Do all classes have identical entitlements?

No. Class, validity and CBA terms matter.

Does one vessel’s bonus rate apply to every ship?

No. Check the agreement and current designation annex.

Self-assessment only; no exam result, personnel record or competence certificate is generated.
